To position Dockside next to the Dock, it requires system permissions to access the Dock’s size and visibility something not allowed in a sandboxed environment. That’s the main reason it’s not on the App Store, like many other utility apps.
However, I also appreciate the ability to push fast updates and keep the license price lower since there’s less commission to pay from my end.
Do let me know if you see any issues with the app or the updates are not coming through as it should?

Thank you! this is what I thought…
Two more questions:
some jpgs don’t show the image when placing the mouse over them, only white space. Then after a while it has disappeared all together.
is there a limit how many jpgs or text clippings or other things can be placed on both sides of the dock ?

Ah ok, would you be able to share the JPGs if it’s not personal, I will take a look why the previews for them are not working. Also take the most latest version of the app (v1.9.40) and see if the preview is still an issue?
Regarding limits, each shelf has a maximum number of items it can hold, which can be seen/configured in the settings for each shelf.
Dockside will automatically remove the oldest file when the limit crosses and it will let you know when it does so, so, you don’t have to do anything to keep them in check, but yes it can’t hold a very large number of files in the shelf though since it can’t fit them all in that limited space next to the Dock.
Hope that helps.

Thank you for replying!
That jpg is gone, probably removed by lack of space. But I’ll try to locate it and will post it here
